Sculpture and Painting Staged at Eritrea Festival 2010 Vital in Promoting the Nation’s Artistic Potential

A total of 25 works of sculpture and 28 paintings being staged at Eritrea Festival 2010 prepared by 31 artist members of the Agitation and Information Bureau of the Defense Ministry would provide impetus to the development of arts in the nation, stated experts in the field. Asmara, 6 August 2010 – A total of 25 works of sculpture and 28 paintings being staged at Eritrea Festival 2010 prepared by 31 artist members of the Agitation and Information Bureau of the Defense Ministry would provide impetus to the development of arts in the nation, stated experts in the field.

They further explained that the impressive artistic works that won broad acclaim on the part of festival participations from different walks of life have a vital role to play in bequeathing the nation’s rich historical legacy to the young generation.

Festival pilgrims said on their part that the sculpture and paintings portraying the struggle of the Eritrean people and the heavy sacrifices paid in the process  would equally make significant contribution in preserving history.

The artistic works depict the steadfastness and victory of the people and freedom fighters, as well as historical events like the demise of the Nadew Command, Operation Salina in 1977 and Operation Fenkil in 1990, among others.
