Ministry Offers Training To 1,460 Teachers, Supervisors And Directors

The Ministry of Education is offering summer course to 1,460 teachers, supervisors and directors from all regions as part of the efforts to upgrade teachers’ capacity and strengthen the teaching-learning process.

Asmara, 8 August 2010 – The Ministry of Education is offering summer course to 1,460 teachers, supervisors and directors from all regions as part of the efforts to upgrade teachers’ capacity and strengthen the teaching-learning process. 
The summer training which is being provided in Kidus Poulos and Erdi Awet schools in Dekemhare as well as in Sema’atat and Denden Secondary Schools in Asmara focuses on language, sport, administrative, leadership and computer courses.
Ms. Meriem Saleh and Sister Letichirstos Ogubayesus, both preschool teachers, said that the course which emphasizes on close relations among teachers and parents is helpful in their workplace. Similarly, another teacher, Mr. Mahmud Ja’efer said that the training is playing due role in enhancing their knowledge and experience.

The head of human resource development in the Ministry, Mr. Tedros Sium, said that the course is aimed at promoting manpower resource and thereby ensure the quality of education. He also pointed out that the training encompasses 17 different subjects.
