SWP Vital in Reinforcing Harmony and Hard Work Among Students: Participants

Participants of the Summer Work Program (SWP) in Gash-Barka region highlighted the importance of the program in nurturing the culture of hard work and exchanging experience.
Barentu, 9 August 2010 – Participants of the Summer Work Program (SWP) in Gash-Barka region highlighted the importance of the program in nurturing the culture of hard work and exchanging experience.

They explained that the program has double benefit in terms of reinforcing harmony and developing the culture of hard work. The participants further stressed the significance of the campaign in promoting soil and water conservation, besides enriching the students’ theoretical knowledge with the practical aspect.

Mr. Mehari Yohannes, expert in reforestation in Barentu, pointed out that the SWP has a vital role to play in enhancing reforestation activities undertaken through popular campaign.

Reports indicated that about 2,000 students who are being deployed in 18 stations in the region are carrying out effective tasks.
