Efforts Underway To Enable Prisoners Of Law Become Productive

The commander of the Eritrean penitentiary and rehabilitation center in Anseba region, Maj. Hagos Tekie, said that vigorous efforts are underway to upgrade the academic and vocational level of prisoners of law, besides inculcating societal values among them.
Keren, 10 August 2010 – The commander of the Eritrean penitentiary and rehabilitation center in Anseba region, Maj. Hagos Tekie, said that vigorous efforts are underway to upgrade the academic and vocational level of prisoners of law, besides inculcating societal values among them. 

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2009/10 academic year in the center, he indicated that such educational opportunity is in line with the Government’s substantial investment to develop the education sector nationwide. He further called on the prisoners of law to make good use of the available opportunity so that they may become successful in their lives ahead.

Reports indicated that out 98% of the total 174 prisoners of law who attended classes from 1st to 8th grade have been promoted to the next level.
