The inhabitants of Felket administrative area, Afabet sub-zone, stated that the putting in place of agricultural infrastructure facilities across the nation with a view to achieving food security is bringing about noticeable improvement in the people’s life style.
Felket, 10 August 2010 – The inhabitants of Felket administrative area, Afabet sub-zone, stated that the putting in place of agricultural infrastructure facilities across the nation with a view to achieving food security is bringing about noticeable improvement in the people’s life style.
They explained that the correct policy of the Government has enabled them to redouble endeavors and become confident of themselves, which in turn nurtured the culture of hard work.
The local inhabitants went on to say that they are exerting strenuous efforts to boost agricultural production, and thereby achieve food security as there exists good rainy season.
Meanwhile, the inhabitants carried out soil and water conservation, as well as reforestation activities beginning from June. They also constructed tens of thousands meters of terraces, besides digging holes for planting tree seedlings at the Meded Hill which is the habitat of a number of wildlife.
The Administrator of Felket administrative area, Mr. Mohammed Adem Mohammed Ahmed, pointed out that commendable tasks have been accomplished through the popular campaign as regards construction of water catchments and embankments.
