Administrator urges farmers in Serjeka sub-zone to reinforce development endeavors

The Administrator of the Central region, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, called on the farming community in Serejeka sub-zone to work in accordance with the land proclamation, and thereby back up the on-going development endeavors. He made the remarks in a meeting he held with the inhabitants of Embaderho, Geremi, Midrezien, Ametsi, Beleza and Dembezawul.
Serejeka, 16 August 2010 – The Administrator of the Central region, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, called on the farming community in Serejeka sub-zone to work in accordance with the land proclamation, and thereby back up the on-going development endeavors. He made the remarks in a meeting he held with the inhabitants of Embaderho, Geremi, Midrezien, Ametsi, Beleza and Dembezawul.

Mr. Kahsai gave briefings on the implementation of development programs in the region, and called on the inhabitants to refrain from cutting down trees, undertaking agricultural practices in prohibited sites and constructing illegal residential houses.

The Administrator further pointed out that the Government is making substantial investment in putting in place infrastructure facilities in different parts of the country. In this respect, he noted that the efforts being exerted to improve the people’s standard of living in the region is not to be viewed lightly.

Stating that the needs of villages would be met stage by stage through undertaking study, Mr. Kahsai said that study has already been conducted to ease potable water supply problem in Embaderho and that the implementation would fellow soon.

The Chairman of the regional Assembly, Mr. Abraham Semere, on his part called on farmers in the sub-zone to enhance contribution in efforts to ensure economic emancipation.

Meanwhile, department heads of the regional administration and agricultural experts headed by Mr. Kahsai visited tree seedling nursery stations in Serejeka sub-zone, during which they observed reforestation activities.
