Embatkala Bridge renovated

The Embatkala Bridge along the Asmara-Massawa road which used to cause damage on human and property during the rainy season has been renovated through the coordinated endeavors of Gedem Construction Company, the public and EDF members. Embatkala, 16 August 2010 – The Embatkala Bridge along the Asmara-Massawa road which used to cause damage on human and property during the rainy season has been renovated through the coordinated endeavors of Gedem Construction Company, the public and EDF members.

The local inhabitants noted that the bridge used to cause transport problem due to excessive flooding by running waters flowing from Mountain Bizen, besides inflicting damage on the nearby health center and potable water supply distribution stations.

The supervisor of the project, Mr. Tesfai Negash, told ERINA that the 29 meter-long, 8-meter high and 3-meter wide bridge has been renovated within a month through the coordination of manpower and machineries.

He further pointed out that the putting in place of terraces and planting tree seedlings along the bride have vital role to play in protecting the newly renovated.
