Keren, 19 July 2010 – The participants of the Summer Work Program (SWP) in Anseba region have carried out effective tasks, stated Mr. Kifle Solomon, Coordinator of the program in the Education Ministry’s branch office in the region.
Disclosing that the program has created conducive ground for the students to prepare mentally and physically for their future, he said that various activities focusing on construction of water catchments, planting of tree seedlings, road renovation and extending support to families of fallen heroes have been carried out.
Mr. Kifle further explained that the tree seedlings were planted in the reserved area for reforestation, and that trees with better resistance to water shortage have been planted in the sub-zones of Geleb, Keren, Adi-Tekelezan, Elaberid and Habero for the first time.
The Administrator of Keren town, Mr. Tekie Keleta, noted on his part the importance of the SWP in promoting the culture of work among students and becoming better acquainted with the country.
The SWP in Anseba region was conducted in 42 stations of Keren, Elaberid, Adi-Tekelezan, Hagaz, Halhale, Asmat, Habero and Gelbe sub-zones.
