CECAFA Under 20 Cup: Eritrea Wins Over Kenya 1-0

Asmara, 23 August 2010 – Eritrea national soccer team beaten its Kenyan counterpart 1 –  0 today in the CECAF Cup under the age of 20, thus advancing to the semi-finals being first from its group states. 

In the tough match characterized with heavy rain showers, the Eritrea team scored 1 goal around 20 minutes in the second half.

Also in a similar game that took place earlier in the same day, Tanzanian soccer team won over its Sudanese counterpart 1- 0.

Accordingly, Eritrean and Kenyan national teams are through to the semi-finals by scoring 10 and 7 points respectively from group “A”.

The Eritrean team would face the Rwandan national team on 26 August.

It is to be noted that on top of today’s victory, Eritrea defeated Tanzania 1-0, and Somalia 2-1, while sharing equal points with Sudanese counterpart in the course of the CECAFA tournament that continued for the 9th day here in Asmara.
