Tsorona, 24 August 2010 – The farming community in Tsorona sub-zone are carrying out effective agricultural activities encouraged with this year’s good rainy season, according to Mr. Gideon Mengesha, head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone.
They noted the importance of undertaking the necessary agricultural preparations in earnest towards obtaining bumper harvest. Preparations are also underway to put under cultivation different types of cereals, including sorghum, taff, wheat and corn.
The farmers further expressed satisfaction with the existing good distribution of rainfall this year.
Meanwhile, members of the farming community in Adi-Keih sub-zone are called upon to carry out weeding activities at the right time so as to obtain bumper harvest.
