Mendefera, 29 August 2010 – In a conference conducted in Mendefera town this week, the need for participation of the society at large to ensure child development and safety was highlighted.
Speaking at the meeting, the head of the Ministry of Labor and Human welfare in the Southern region, Mr. Amare Reda, pointed out that the Government’s substantial investment to ensure child health is bearing fruitful outcome. He also emphasized the enhanced role of teachers and schools in child development.
The participants of the meeting on their part adopted a number of resolutions and recommendations that include the importance of continuous campaigns to promote people’s awareness. Furthermore, a committee that advocate for child’s right was formed in Mendefera at the end of the conference.
