Societal Contribution Vital In Promoting The Participation Of Vision-Impaired Nationals In Education

In a meeting with the residence of Dekemhare town, the Chairman of the Eritrean National Association of the Blind, Mr. Dawit Fisehaye, called on the entire society to enhance contribution in enabling vision-impaired nationals take active participation in education, and thus become self-supporting.

Dekemhare, 8 September 2010 – In a meeting with the residence of Dekemhare town, the Chairman of the Eritrean National Association of the Blind, Mr. Dawit Fisehaye, called on the entire society to enhance contribution in enabling vision-impaired nationals take active participation in education, and thus become self-supporting.

He pointed out that the awareness of the society continues to grow as a result of the lectures and campaign being undertaken. In this connection, Mr. Dawit emphasized the need for creating conducive ground for disabled persons so as to accomplish greater tasks.

Noting that there are over 3,000 members in the Association in 21 sub-branches, he explained various training courses are being offered to vision-impaired nationals so as to enable them cope with technological advancement. To this end, Mr. Dawit urged the general public to respect the rights of vision-impaired persons, besides caring and supporting them.

The participants of the meeting affirmed that they would do their level best in backing up the activities of the Association.
