Soil and water conservation activities underway in Dera administrative area
The inhabitants of Dera administrative area are carrying out soil and water conservation activities so as to boost agricultural production.
Dera, 9 September 2010 – The inhabitants of Dera administrative area are carrying out soil and water conservation activities so as to boost agricultural production.
The Administrator of the area, Mr. Girmai Zewde, disclosed that the farming community is actively engaged in land leveling tasks in Tseangelo by deploying over 300 pairs of oxen. He also explained that the Tseangelo River is being renovated. Reports also indicated that more than 10,000 meters of terracing has been put in place on 25 hectares of land.
Dera administrative area is located 20 Km. north of Adi-Keih town.
