Asmara, 14 September 2010 – The Zagre Prize awardees said that the award shoulders them big responsibility to demonstrate excellence in their future academic pursuit.
Students Ahmed Mohammed Ali from Foro who scored full mark in the matriculation exams and was awarded Zagre Prize said that his determination and vision enabled him to achieve success, and explained that lack of enough facilities or remoteness of schools could not hinder one from success and competitiveness.
Student Yemane Goitom who scored full mark on his part commended the Government’s substantial investment towards equipping youths with the necessary knowledge and skill, besides ensuring social justice. He explained that hard work and parental encouragement made vital contribution to his success. He further expressed determination to continue his education to the higher level and live up to the nation’s expectation.
Still another Zagre awardee, student Omar Sunabara from Senafe sub-zone indicated that the prize is not an end in itself but a decisive factor for paving the way for still greater accomplishments in the academic pursuit. He further noted that the awardees are the outcome of the strenuous efforts exerted by the Government to ensure the quality of education and upgrade the competence of students. The awardee went on to say that the Zagre Award has succeeded in inculcating the spirit of competitiveness among students.
Likewise, student Tsega Kibreab from the environs of Mendefera asserted that they would redouble endeavors to achieve academic excellence in the higher education as they are encouraged by such a prize.
