Women farmers in Tessenei sub-zone grouped in an association and who are engaged in Aligidir Agricultural Project are accomplishing encouraging tasks.
Tessenei, 21 September 2010 – Women farmers in Tessenei sub-zone grouped in an association and who are engaged in Aligidir Agricultural Project are accomplishing encouraging tasks.
They stressed the significance of forming an association in undertaking effective farming activities and that such an organization should be emulated by fellow members of the farming community.
They further noted that the NUEW branch in the sub-zone extended utmost encouragement to organize themselves in an association, and that they have been carrying out agricultural activities in groups for over 10 years. They added that noticeable improvement has been registered in their living standard.
The members went on to say that their farmlands are in good condition thanks to the good rainy season and the renovation of the Aligidir water diversion scheme. They also stressed the importance of forming an association in fostering unity and harmony among the members, beyond boosting production.
Moreover, the members explained that conducive ground has been created for undertaking agricultural activities thanks to the infrastructure facilities put in place in Aligidir Agricultural Project.
