The Ministry of Marine Resource branch in the Central region, in coordination with the research and control branch of the same Ministry, organized a lecture on the proper utilization and handling of fish products and its effective distribution to the public.
Asmara, 22 September 2010 – The Ministry of Marine Resource branch in the Central region, in coordination with the research and control branch of the same Ministry, organized a lecture on the proper utilization and handling of fish products and its effective distribution to the public.
The lecture offered here in Asmara focused on ways of properly preserving the neatness and safety of fishes supplied to the market, and that preparations are underway to sell fish in a manner that satisfies public demand as of next February. In this respect, fish selling plants were called upon to finalize the necessary preparations to this end.
In opening remarks, the head of the Ministry’s branch in the region, Mr. Esaw Tiku’e, noted the significance of handling fish products to extra neatness and cautiousness as it can be easily spoiled. He stated that fish selling plants that demonstrate negligence in this regard would face due punishment.
The head of economic development in the Central regional Administration, Mr. Yemane Abai, said on his part that all concerned parties are duty-bound to work for the success of the envisaged program.
Present at the lecture were members of marine resource quality control, municipality inspectors and owners of fish selling plants.
