Southern Red Sea region: Over 2,000 needy families rehabilitated

More than 2,000 needy families in the sub-zones of Ara’ata, Central and Southern Denkalia of the Southern Red Sea region have been rehabilitated through livestock worth about 12 million Nakfa, and thereby enable them become self-supporting.
Ara’ata, 23 September 2010 –More than 2,000 needy families in the sub-zones of Ara’ata, Central and Southern Denkalia of the Southern Red Sea region have been rehabilitated through livestock worth about 12 million Nakfa, and thereby enable them become self-supporting.

According to the director general of economic development in the region, Mr. Gebreselassie Aradom, each family has been rehabilitated with livestock at cost of 5,500 Nakfa. The beneficiaries of the program commended the Government’s efforts to improve their living standard.
