Eritrea Delegation Attends 2nd African-Chinese International Cooperation Forum

An Eritrean delegation headed by the Minister of Justice, Ms. Fawzia Hashim, attended the 2nd African-Chinese International Cooperation Forum that was held in Beijing from September 15 to 19.

Asmara, 29 September 2010 – An Eritrean delegation headed by the Minister of Justice, Ms. Fawzia Hashim, attended the 2nd African-Chinese International Cooperation Forum that was held in Beijing from September 15 to 19.

The forum is aimed at creating conducive ground towards strengthening and developing the existing strategic cooperation between the African continent and the PRC. It also mainly focused on legal matters that affect relations between China and the African countries, according to reports. 

In the international forum in which ministers and law professionals from 37 African countries took part,  agenda items pertaining to fostering legal cooperation between the two sides, as well as national and international laws were raised on which extensive discussion was conducted regarding their advantage and impact on economic cooperation.

Meanwhile, Ms. Fawzia held talks with the Chinese Minister of Justice on enhancing bilateral relations. An agreement was also concluded on ways of exchanging experience as regards community-based administration of justice between the Eritrean Ministry of Justice and the Chinese Law Association.
