An assessment meeting of community-based environmental sanitation campaign was conducted in Afabet with the participation of representatives from the sub-zones of Afabet, Nacfa, Adobha and Karora.
Afabet, 1 October 2010 – An assessment meeting of community-based environmental sanitation campaign was conducted in Afabet with the participation of representatives from the sub-zones of Afabet, Nacfa, Adobha and Karora.

The Administrator of Afabet sub-zone, Mr. Abdu Mohammed Telke, pointed out that community-based sanitation programs have been launched in the administrative areas of Felket, Kamchewa and Kubkub as a result of the growing public awareness regarding environmental sanitation and public health. He further urged area administrators to enhance their contribution for greater accomplishments.

The coordinator of environmental sanitation in the Health Ministry’s branch in Northern Red Sea region, Mr. Hagos Milkias, said on his part that the program is aimed at controlling diseases resulting from lack of proper hygiene and called on every national to step up participation to this end.

The participants of the meeting adopted a number of resolutions and recommendations highlighting the need for easing potable water supply problem in schools and reinforcing endeavors to expand toilets, among others.
