Gelalo, 4 October 2010 – The inhabitants of Gelalo sub-zone in Northern Red Sea region highlighted the need for easing transport problem they are currently encountering.
They explained that although the expansion of various services in the area is bringing about visible improvement in their living standard, no bus has been deployed to render service to the inhabitants of the area, which is exposing them to transport problem in accessing health service and activities in other domains.
Expressing satisfaction with the construction of the Massawa-Assab road at substantial expenditure, the local inhabitants stressed the need for opening a transport line and deploying bus so that they may get relieved from such problem.
Moreover, they stated that they are being compelled to pay high tariff on the part of private bus owners, which in turn is aggravating the problem.
The head of economic development in the sub-zone, Mr. Dirar Asfaha, noted the need for expanding transport service in Gelalo sub-zone as it is located along the Massawa-Assab road in which transport activities are intensive.
