Abo, 5 October 2010 – The inhabitants of Abo administrative area, South Denkalia sub-zone, urged the concerned party to step up the ongoing endeavors to tackle shortage of potable water supply currently encountered due to technical problem.

The Acting head of the area, Mr. Abdalla Ali Hiero, said that two electricity-generated wells were dug in 1996 and have been providing potable water supply to the public. However, such service was halted due to the malfunctioning  of generator, which in turn compelled them to fetch water from open water sources that does not meet standards and thus exposing them to water-born diseases.

He further pointed out that the local inhabitants have voluntarily raised over 70,000 Nakfa towards repairing the damaged motors. In this connection, Mr. Abdalla called on the Water Resource Department to address the problem.
