Raising awareness of employees regarding communicable diseases vital in providing reliable service

The Employers Federation branch in Anseba region highlighted the need for workers to raise awareness regarding ways of preventing communicable diseases so that they may become more productive and provide reliable service to the public.
Keren, 6 October 2010 – The Employers Federation branch in Anseba region highlighted the need for workers to raise awareness regarding ways of preventing communicable diseases so that they may become more productive and provide reliable service to the public.

Speaking in a meeting held in Keren town, the Chairman of the Federation, Mr. Samuel Belai, noted the decisive role of employers and employees in preventing and controlling communicable diseases. He further explained that the significance of healthy nationals in raising productivity and ensuring socio-economic progress is not to be viewed lightly. In this respect, Mr. Samuel stated that the investment being made in human resource development should continue in an enhanced manner.

The head of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch in the region, M. Girmai Bokretsion, pointed out on his part that ensuring social justice and equality symbolizes a culture of civilized society and prosperous nation, and as such all institutions should exert coordinated endeavors in nurturing healthy nationals.

The head of agitation and information unit in the Health Ministry’s branch in Anseba region, Mr. Tesfalem Misgina, stated that concrete achievements are being registered in efforts to raise public awareness regarding ways of combating communicable diseases. 

The participants of the meeting adopted a number of resolutions and recommendations stressing the need to further deepen public awareness.
