A Sheep In Mendefera Sub Zone Gives Birth To Quintuplets

A sheep in the village of Kudofelasi in the Mendefera sub zone gave birth to five lambs on September 28.

Mendefera, 10 October 2010- A sheep in the village of Kudofelasi in the Mendefera sub zone gave birth to five lambs on September 28.

The owner of the sheep, Ms. Tsirha Kassa said that the sheep had become indisposed following the prolonged ordeal and that the lambs are being fed milk from other sheep.

The head of animal resources in the Southern Region, Dr. Ogbazghi Kifle indicated that sheep can sometimes give up to two or three lambs at one time but five at once is quite unheard of.
