Encouraging Results Achieved In Education Sector In The Northern Red Sea Region Due To Collaborative Efforts Of The Entire Community

The branch head of the Ministry of Education in the Northern Red Sea Region, Mr. Yassin Mohammed stated that the commendable success achieved in the education sector in the region is the result of the collaborative efforts of the entire community in general and the efforts of the parents and teachers in particular.

Massawa, 10 October 2010- The branch head of the Ministry of Education in the Northern Red Sea Region, Mr. Yassin Mohammed stated that the commendable success achieved in the education sector in the region is the result of the collaborative efforts of the entire community in general and the efforts of the parents and teachers in particular.

Mr. Yassin told ERINA that the Eritrean government’s massive investment for securing equal access to education in all parts of the country can be particularly experienced in the Northern Red Sea region. He further pointed out that continued efforts are underway to build schools in places where there were none before as well as promote the quality and level of education provided.

Mr. Yassin went on to add that student-centered curriculum is playing a vital role in promoting the education system, increasing the number of female enrollment as well as boosting the role and coordination of teachers. He then pointed out that 2,200 students passed on to the next grade out of the 2,500 that sat for the 8th Grade National Examination, resulting in 7% rise when compared to last year’s results.
