Over 28 Million Nakfa Paid In Benefit Scheme To Martyrs’ Families In Anseba Region

The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch in Anseba region has paid over 28 million Nakfa in benefit scheme to 7,123 families of martyrs in the region over the past 9 months. Keren, 13 October 2010 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch in Anseba region has paid over 28 million Nakfa in benefit scheme to 7,123 families of martyrs in the region over the past 9 months.

Reports indicated that the payment is being given in the newly opened stations in 10 sub-zones of the region, thus enabling the beneficiaries to get the payment in their respective areas without having to travel to distant places.

The head of the branch office, Mr. Girmai Bokretsion, indicated that the office is working diligently in supporting the families of fallen heroes, and that the benefit scheme is being payment in their respective areas and on time.  Also on top of the regular payment in benefit scheme on the part of the Government, 1.5 million Nakfa has been distributed to 231 martyrs’ families out of the money sent from Eritrean nationals residing abroad in line with their pledge to assist families of fallen heroes.

The beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with the continued assistance being extended to them by the people and the Government which is bringing about noticeable improvement in their living standard.

Meanwhile, the branch office has rehabilitated 30 families catering to a total of 248 orphans through extending 20,000 Nakfa to each family over the past 8 months.
