Antore, 13 October 2010 – The inhabitants of Antore in Laelai-Gash sub-zone called on the concerned party to put an end to high tariff being charged for transport service while traveling to and fro Awgaro.

They explained that they travel to Awgaro to supply their products to the market and for personal reasons, and that they were compelled to pay tariff as high as 100 Nakfa especially during the rainy season, though it is about 40 km. away from their locality. The inhabitants further voiced concern with the overload of vehicles rendering service.

They went on to say that the high tariff being imposed as a result of road damage is very much exaggerated and  unfair that requires taking punitive measures to control it. The inhabitants further noted that the damaged road could be renovated through popular campaign.

The Administrator of Antore, Mr. Teare Habtom, stated that the road was repaired by heavy machineries in 2007, and that it is not in a terrible condition at present.
