The inhabitants of Gaden administrative area expressed satisfaction with the expansion of basic social services which were non-existent prior to independence.
Gaden, 16 October 2010 – The inhabitants of Gaden administrative area expressed satisfaction with the expansion of basic social services which were non-existent prior to independence.
They explained that there exist 3 elementary and 2 junior schools, a health station, two major micro-dams, over 10 water reservoirs and 5 drill-operating wells, among others. They have also become beneficiaries of electricity service as of last month.
The local inhabitants further explained that they have been relieved of illiteracy and diseases thanks to the introduction of various social services in their respective areas. They went on to say that parallel with the Government’s endeavors to expand equitable social service, they are actively engaged in renovating 15 Km-long dirt road through popular campaign.
The inhabitants stressed the significance of the newly introduced power supply in improving their life style and highlighted the need for constructing a high school in the area as the students are compelled to travel to Dekemhare to continue secondary education.
Gaden administrative area with a population of over 4,000 comprises the villages of Ala, Belesto and Gaden semi-urban center.
