A new teachers’ residence building has been constructed in Adi-Belesei administrative area, Areza sub-zone, at a cost of over 1.6 million Nakfa. Areza, 16 October 2010 – A new teachers’ residence building has been constructed in Adi-Belesei administrative area, Areza sub-zone, at a cost of over 1.6 million Nakfa.
The project implemented through the collaboration of the Southern regional Administration and partners is equipped with a 30 kilowatt solar-energy generating facility.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the head of infrastructure development in the region, Mr. Rezene Fisehaye, indicated that the Government is making vigorous efforts towards alleviating the problem teachers face and introducing modern technology along with substantial investment to expand equitable educational opportunity in remote areas.
The Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Berhane Mengesha, said on his part that the Government is doing its level best to facilitate the teaching-learning process through making the necessary facilities available. He also called on the beneficiary villages to make good use of the opportunity thus provided.
Adi-Belsei Elementary School in the sub-zone that was constructed in 2005 is providing educational service to students from 9 villages.
