Efforts to control HIV/AIDS infection in the Northern Red Sea region are bearing fruitful outcome, according to the head of Ministry of Health branch office in the region, Mr. Abraham Yemane.
Massawa, 17 October 2010 – Efforts to control HIV/AIDS infection in the Northern Red Sea region are bearing fruitful outcome, according to the head of Ministry of Health branch office in the region, Mr. Abraham Yemane. 

In a lecture offered to caretakers of HIV/AIDS and TB patients in Massawa, he explained that the provision of efficient health services and adequate skilled manpower have played significant role in declining the spread of various diseases.

Mr. Abraham further said that the endeavors to reduce child and maternal mortality rates as well as deaths in children under 5 years of age has shown progress thanks to the concerted work of health professionals and area administrators. 

Reports indicated that counseling and examination of HIV/AIDS services that commenced in 2000 in four hospitals has now expanded to 10 health centers.
