A meeting held in Keren took note of the encouraging outcome being registered in the on-going coordinated efforts to enable female students take active participation in education and become competitive. The meeting also stressed the need for taking concerted action on the part of all institutions so as to score still more gratifying outcome.
Keren, 18 October 2010 – A meeting held in Keren took note of the encouraging outcome being registered in the on-going coordinated efforts to enable female students take active participation in education and become competitive. The meeting also stressed the need for taking concerted action on the part of all institutions so as to score still more gratifying outcome.
The coordinator of women’s affairs in the NUEYS branch in Anseba region, Ms. Shamla Gebrekidan, explained that the various material and financial assistance, as well as supplementary classes being offered to female students in a bid to avoid school dropouts need to be enhanced so that the program may bear fruitful outcome.
A report presented at the meeting indicated that the supplementary classes offered to students were quite helpful, especially to those students who participate in the National Grade 8 Examination.
Also on the occasion, female students who scored high mark in the this year’s Grade 8 National Exams and exemplary schools were awarded incentive prizes.
