The head of the NUEYS branch in Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Ismail Mussa, stated that substantial investment is being made towards nurturing dynamic youth equipped with the required skill and knowledge.
Assab, 18 October 2010 – The head of the NUEYS branch in Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Ismail Mussa, stated that substantial investment is being made towards nurturing dynamic youth equipped with the required skill and knowledge.
In a report he presented, Mr. Ismail pointed out that as part of endeavors to build human capacity, various training courses would be offered to 360 youths focusing on boat repairing, fish product processing and creating fishing nets, as well as language lessons, electronics, woodworks and the like.
Besides, over 1,000 youths received training on management and gender equality with a view to raising national and political consciousness of the youth.
Mr. Ibrahim Derder, Member of the NUEYS Central Council, said on his part that the Union has opened 32 offices in 4 sub-zones of the region, and that the activities being carried out to organize students and youth employees are bearing fruitful outcome. He further noted that top attention would be given to the task of backing up the envisaged program of enabling youths engage in marine activities in the form of cooperatives.
The participants of the meeting adopted a number of resolutions and recommendations highlighting the need to promote the construction of youth recreation centers and fostering close coordination among government institutions as regards youth issue.
