Inhabitants of Ti’o undertaking campaign to prevent coastline pollution

The inhabitants of Ti’o semi-urban center are carrying out popular campaign with a view to preventing pollution of coastline and ensuring public health. More than 650 people are taking active part in the undertaking on a weekly basis.

Ti’o, 22 October 2010 – The inhabitants of Ti’o semi-urban center are carrying out popular campaign with a view to preventing pollution of coastline and ensuring public health. More than 650 people are taking active part in the undertaking on a weekly basis.

The Administrator of the area, Mr. Ismail Ali Motala, stated that the awareness of the public regarding environmental protection and prevention of diseases is quite high, especially in preventing pollution in the sea and the coastline.

He went on to say that such a  weekly popular campaign has been undertaken for many years uninterruptedly for the whole year and that it has already become  a culture. 

The local inhabitants said on their part that they are reinforcing the activities as they are well-aware of the importance of environmental sanitation in public health. They further noted the need for the concerned party to make available of rubbish bin and transport facilities so that the campaign may bear fruitful outcome.
