Fanko, 26 October 2010 – The inhabitants of Fanko administrative area were called upon to take community-based initiatives towards addressing social problems parallel with the Government’s endeavors.
In a panel discussion organized by the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch in Tessenei sub-zone, it was disclosed that members of the public need to properly identify the shortcomings being encountered and take the necessary remedial steps.
The Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Tekleberhan Gebrewold, stated that the public should not only make good use of the newly available service-rendering institutions but should also take good care of them.
The head of the Ministry’s branch office in the sub-zone, Mr. Saleh Osman, indicated on his part that the Government’s unremitting endeavors towards improving the people’s standard of living could not fully succeed short of active popular participation in the process. In this connection, he called on the general public to take community-based initiatives in tackling loopholes without solely relying on solution from the Government.
The participants of the panel discussion highlighted the need for deploying ambulance and the construction of elementary school, in addition to getting access to electricity service.
