NUEW branch in Anseba region gives training in Keren town

The NUEW branch in Anseba region gave training to a total of 276 Union members with a view to upgrading their capacity.

Keren, 29 October 2010 – The NUEW branch in Anseba region gave training to a total of 276 Union members with a view to upgrading their capacity.

The head of agitation and information at the NUEW, Ms. Dahab Suleiman, said that the training focused on the Convention of Child Right and other topics.

The trainees held extensive discussion as regards the negative consequence of underage marriage and withdrawal from schools as well as combating harmful traditional practices.

The head of the NUEW branch in Anseba region¸ Ms. Alem Belai, outlined the importance of women’s participation in education so as to ensure their rights and take active participation in all domains.

The Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, highlighted the importance of women’s participation in all work places, and thus stressed the need for women to strive for upgrading their all-round competence.
