Inhabitants of Durfo relieved of potable water supply problem

The inhabitants of Arbe-Rebu’e and Ela Higus in Durfo administrative area have now been relieved of potable water supply problem thanks to the digging of a well.

Durfo, 30 October 2010 – The inhabitants of Arbe-Rebu’e and Ela Higus in Durfo administrative area have now been relieved of potable water supply problem thanks to the digging of a well.

The Administrator of Akria administrative area, Mr. Ezkias Wuhbet, indicated that over 95% of the inhabitants of the Central region have access to potable water supply as a result of the vigorous endeavors being made to ensure the provision of potable water in all rural areas.

The local inhabitants explained that previously they used to fetch water from streams that does not meet standard and particularly recalled the acute drinking water problem they used to encounter during the dry season. They further expressed satisfaction with the digging of the well which would enable them to get access to potable water supply in their respective area.

Reports indicated that previously, solar energy-generating and hand-pump wells were put in place in the villages of Daerotai, Adi-Shuma and Felhit in Durfo administrative area. Another well would also be dug in Adi-Antsefet in the near future, the reports added.
