Inhabitants of Halib-Mentel express satisfaction for getting access to social services
The inhabitants of Halib-Mentel administrative area expressed satisfaction for becoming beneficiaries of various social services as part of the Government’s endeavors to improve the people’s standard of living.
Halib-Mentel, 30 October 3010 – The inhabitants of Halib-Mentel administrative area expressed satisfaction for becoming beneficiaries of various social services as part of the Government’s endeavors to improve the people’s standard of living.
The inhabitants told ERINA that there used to be limited social services in the area previously. At present, however, they got access to basic social services such as education, health and potable water supply, which in turn is bringing noticeable improvement in their lifestyle.
They further explained that the potable water supply problem the inhabitants used to face has been eased through the coordinated endeavors of the public and the Government which mainly relieved children and women from traveling long distance to fetch water.
They went on to say that students who were compelled to travel for 10 Km. to pursue secondary education in Keren are now continuing education in their respective area thanks to the construction of a high school in the locality.
The Acting head of the area, Ms. Elsa Melik, pointed out on her part that the inhabitants of various villages in the administrative area are becoming beneficiaries of better social services.
Halib-Mentel administrative area groups the villages of Sharki, Hassen, Bisuq and Golu.
