Haikota sub-zone: Ministry extends assistance to needy students

The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch in Haikota sub-zone has extended various types of assistance to a number of needy students in this academic year, stated Ms. Azeb Eyob, Acting head of the office.

Haikota, 1 November 2010 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch in Haikota sub-zone has extended various types of assistance to a number of needy students in this academic year, stated Ms. Azeb Eyob, Acting head of the office.

She noted that the assistance is aimed at avoiding student dropout from school due to economic reasons, and that it would be enhanced in the future.

Moreover, the branch office distributed beasts of burden to disabled students from the administrative areas of Haikota, Fiesko, Gobosh, Girasha, Balkai and Libaniay, in addition to extending exercise books and uniform to other needy students.

The beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with the support and stressed the need for parents to send disabled children to school at the right age.
