Embakuakot, 5 November 2010 – The construction of modern major embankments in Mirgats around the Mihmas stream are making significant contribution in promoting fruits and vegetable farming, according to Mr. Mengisteab Tsehaimereb, Administrator of Embakuakot administrative area.
He explained that a number of agricultural and development projects around the Mihmas stream used to be out of function as a result of excessive flooding and soil erosion. The construction of major embankments in the site has now been restored to normalcy and already become a greenery spot, he added.
Mr. Mengisteab further indicated that underground water resource is being enriched thanks to the putting in place of such embankments, which in turn enabled a total of 30 farmers to engage in fruits and vegetables farming activities.
Embakuakot is located about 20 Km. west of Adi-Keih sub-zone.
