Assistance Extended To Needy Students In Senafe And Dubarwa Sub-Zones

In line with efforts to support needy compatriots, the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare extended school materials and money in assistance to 95 orphaned children in Senafe town.
Senafe, 6 November 2010 – In line with efforts to support needy compatriots, the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare extended school materials and money in assistance to 95 orphaned children in Senafe town.

Mr. Reda Belai from the Ministry’s branch office in the area said that the assistance is aimed at encouraging needy student to continue their education and demonstrate academic excellence. 

The head of social services in Senafe sub-zone, Mr. Melake Tewolde, explained that the ongoing rehabilitation programs for children are registering effective outcome and called on students to  make optimum use of such opportunities.

In a related report, the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch in Dubarwa sub-zone extended over 175,000 Nakfa in support of 53 needy nationals there. Accordingly, 6 orphans have been rehabilitated through cattle worth 120,000 Nakfa, in addition to the rehabilitation of 17 disabled citizens through material and financial support. 30 students also received school materials, uniforms and for payment of annual academic fees.

The beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with the move and highlighted its importance in encouraging them demonstrate excellence in their academic pursuit.
