Massawa, 8 November 2010 – The continued expansion and widening of roads in the port city of Massawa have a vital role to play in facilitating transport service and reducing traffic accidents, stated drivers.
The drivers stated that the long-term road development action plan is in tune with the growing high traffic movements in the city, in addition to giving added charm to the port city. They particularly highly appraised the substantial investment made in greatly expanding the previously narrow Sigalet Ketan road.
The drivers went on to say that the road has been greatly widened in a manner that becomes quite suitable for both small and big vehicles, which in turn is making significant contribution in reducing traffic accidents.
Road expansion and asphalting activities were carried out on about 62.3 Km-long roads in Massawa, including the Bab-Ashera and Sigalet Ketan roads, according to the infrastructure development department in the Northern Red Sea region.
