The director general of infrastructure and social services department in the Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Andemichael Solomon, said that potable water supply projects have been implemented at an expenditure of more than 100 million Nakfa in four sub-zones of the region. He added that 77% of the local inhabitants are now in a position to get access to potable water supply.
Assab, 11 November 2010 – The director general of infrastructure and social services department in the Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Andemichael Solomon, said that potable water supply projects have been implemented at an expenditure of more than 100 million Nakfa in four sub-zones of the region. He added that 77% of the local inhabitants are now in a position to get access to potable water supply.
Mr. Andemichael further indicated that those areas which did not yet obtain such service would do so following the completion of seven other water supply projects by 2013. Moreover, a number of infrastructure and social services facilities have been provided in the region. As regards education, he indicated that the construction of 10 schools and a vocational training center at a cost of 40 million Nakfa is playing significant role in promoting educational opportunity.
