The construction of foam-made housing complex in Gerset through Homib Construction Company is nearing finalization, stated Mr. Kidane Woldu, manager of the Company.

Gerset, 12 November 2010 – The construction of foam-made housing complex in Gerset through Homib Construction Company is nearing finalization, stated Mr. Kidane Woldu, manager of the Company.

The project involves the construction of 500 residential houses in two phases, and that work has already begun on 200 of them.

Mr. Kidane said that the undertaking is part of the endeavors to improve the people’s standard of living and narrowing the rural-urban gap. Outlining the advantage of foam-made building complexes, the manager explained that the Company has concluded contracts with a number of institutions to construct various complexes for commercial and residential purposes.

The residential complexes under construction comprise 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and restroom, among others.

Mr. Kidane further pointed out that consultations are underway with Gedem Construction Company on ways of producing foams easily in the area rather than bringing it from Massawa.
