Massawa, 12 November 2010 – The head of the Tourism Ministry’s branch office in Northern Red Sea region, Mr. Gilazgi Woldu, noted the need for close follow-up of the activities of service-rendering institution in the port city of massawa so as to meet customers’ expectations, including that of tourists.
To this end, the branch office in collaboration with the city administration and other institutions is providing training courses and lectures to owners and employees of various service-rendering enterprises, he elaborated.
Noting that a number of nationals and foreigners visit Massawa beginning this month in view of the salubrious weather, Mr. Gilazgi urged service-rendering institutions to render satisfactory service.
Reports indicated that over 42,000 visitors, out of whom about 5,000 are foreigners visited the port city during the period January to September 2010. It is known that there are about 185 service-rendering institutions in Massawa.
