Al-jazeera Arabic Television is airing a program on how places previously serving as prison during the colonial period have been turned into cultural centers for developing cultural activities and nurturing national identity .
Asmara, 14 November 2010 – Al-jazeera Arabic Television is airing a program on how places previously serving as prison during the colonial period have been turned into cultural centers for developing cultural activities and nurturing national identity .

The program being aired from November 13 comprises of news report reflecting different stages of Eritrean journey and struggle, about the people of Eritrea’s rich traditional music and dance, and harmony of the nine ethnic groups. Moreover, the program highlights the paramount role of the cultural activities during the armed struggle for independence.

Furthermore, the Arabic program reiterated the role of cultural activities as part of building national identity and rebuilding of the country accompanied by interviews and pictures.

Reports disclosed that the news-report has been prepared by Al-jazeera reporters who visited Eritrea.
