Fruits and vegetables farmers in Kaqbda-Adebzage stated that Bidho micro-dam which accumulated sufficient amount of water is making due contribution in augmenting productivity, especially over the 10 hectares put under cultivation through irrigation in Kaqbda.
Debarwa, 14 November 2010 – Fruits and vegetables farmers in Kaqbda-Adebzage stated that Bidho micro-dam which accumulated sufficient amount of water is making due contribution in augmenting productivity, especially over the 10 hectares put under cultivation through irrigation in Kaqbda.
Mr. Zemenfes Girmai, one of the inhabitants of Kaqbda, pointed out that they were previously unable to cultivate the vast land they have due to lack of water. However, he said that they have managed to cultivate two-three times per year thanks to the Bidho micro-dam.
The Administrator of Adebzage, Mr. Solomon Habtezgi, stated that they are exerting utmost efforts to ensure food security using the available water.
The Administrator of Debarwa sub-zone, Ms. Leul Asrat, on her part reiterated readiness of the administration to extend assistance to the undertaken activities.
