Farming Communities In Forto-Sawa Called Upon To Organize In Association

Fruits and vegetables farmers in Forto-Sawa sub-zone have been called upon to organize in associations, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture branch office in the sub-zone, Mr. Oqbai Gebre’amlak disclosed.
Forto-Sawa, 14 November 2010 –Fruits and vegetables farmers in Forto-Sawa sub-zone have been called upon to organize in associations, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture branch office in the sub-zone, Mr. Oqbai Gebre’amlak disclosed.

In a meeting he conducted with the farmers, he stressed the need for the framers to get organized noting that only 120 from more than 300 farmers have been organized in associations in a bid to promote productivity.

Reports indicate that there is over 3,000 hectares of fruits and vegetable farmland in Forto-Sawa sub-zone.
