Northern Red Sea Region: Health Institutions Plays Vital Role In Combating Communicable Diseases

Various health institutions in the Northern Red Sea region are playing vital role in combating communicable diseases and enhancing public awareness, as well as ensuring family health, stated Mr. Abraham Yemane, the head of the Health Ministry’s branch in the region.
Massawa, 14 November 2010 – Various health institutions in the Northern Red Sea region are playing vital role in combating communicable diseases and enhancing public awareness, as well as ensuring family health, stated Mr. Abraham Yemane, the head of the Health Ministry’s branch in the region.

He explained that there exist health institutions in 10 sub-zones, 4 hospitals, 11 health centers, 24 health stations, and most of the local inhabitants are obtaining healthcare service in their vicinity. Mr. Abraham said that the ongoing healthcare services and sanitation activities are bearing fruitful outcome in reducing death rate of under five children and communicable diseases.

Moreover, the head of the branch office disclosed that successful eye surgeries have so far been carried out on 850 nationals.
