Expansion of social services in Gash-Barka region improving the people’s life style

The putting in place of service-rendering institutions and infrastructure facilities in remote areas of Gash-Barka are making significant contribution in improving the people’s life style, according to Mr. Osman Mohammed Ali, Chairman of the  regional Assembly.

Barentu, 15 November 2010 – The putting in place of service-rendering institutions and infrastructure facilities in remote areas of Gash-Barka are making significant contribution in improving the people’s life style, according to Mr. Osman Mohammed Ali, Chairman of the  regional Assembly.

He outlined that the expansion of various services, including health, education and potable water supply, as well as the construction of micro-dams, water reservoirs, dirt and asphalted road networks and bridges are bringing about noticeable improvement in the people’s standard of living.

Noting that equitable social services are being expanded in all parts of the country, especially remote areas, Mr. Osman called on the general public to make good use of such facilities. He also urged parents to closely follow up their children’s academic performance.
