Asmara, 16 November 2010 – Eid Al-Adha Al-Mubarak was today celebrated across the nation in a colorful manner.
At a gathering held at Bahti Meskerem Square here in the capital in which tens of thousands of the faithful participated, prayers headed by the Eritrean Mufti, Sheik Al-Amin Osman Al-Amin, was conducted. In a religious message he conveyed on the occasion in which senior government officials and diplomats took part, the Mufti congratulated the Eritrean people inside the country and abroad. He further outlined the historical origin of the religious holiday.
Sheik Al-Amin pointed out that Eid Al-Adha is a great religious event in which the faithful demonstrate mutual cooperation and called on them to extend a helping hand to martyrs’ families, disabled nationals and needy compatriots on priority basis.
Noting that the secrete of the success of the Eritrean people lies on their mutual harmony and unity, the Mufti expressed strong conviction that the Eritrean people would build the nation as ever under the umbrella of mutual love and harmony.
