Asmara, 17 November 2010 – The Eritrean national cycling team maintained its leadership in the first phase of Rwanda Tour.
In the first phase cycling race conducted today covering 162.8 kilometers, African Champion Eritrean cyclist Daniel Teklehaimanot finished 2nd, while cyclist Meron Russom stood 4th.
Moreover, cyclists Natnael Berhane and Frekalsi Debesai ranked among the best 10 cyclists in the competition, which in turn enabled the national team to lead the race.
About 95 cyclists from 16 national teams are taking part in the first phase of Rwanda Tour.
The second phase of the race would continue tomorrow involving two competitions covering 54 and 64 kilometers respectively.
